U.S — Owner of Randallstown medical company pleads guilty to extortion, health care conspiracy

Harry Crawford, 56, of Baltimore, pleaded guilty to the extortion, as well as to conspiracy to commit health care fraud in connection with schemes to defraud Medicaid and other health benefit programs, and conspiracy to defraud the United States for not reporting income from the health care fraud scheme on his taxes.

A co-defendant who worked as a delivery driver for the company, Matthew Hightower, 34, was also convicted of extortion and murdering David Wutoh on Sept. 22, following a week-long trial. Hightower and another co-defendant Elma Myles, 52, of Baltimore, are scheduled to go to trial on charges related to the health care fraud scheme on January 23, 2017.
