…According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph N. Minish, Ostrager was like the other doctors who admitted their guilt after the wide-ranging kickback arrangement was revealed in 2013. But unlike most of them, Ostrager wasn’t satisfied with the $3,300 he was receiving in monthly kickbacks, Minish said.
Ostrager asked for, and received tickets to sporting events, shows and a Justin Bieber concert. “He wanted above and beyond from BLS,” Minish said.
His patients’ lab work alone generated $900,000 for the lab, and Ostrager received more than $100,000 in return for it, Minish said…
